Electric Black Earth Festival Volunteer Day

Dive into the essence of Afrofuturism and ancestral visions at the Electric Black Earth Festival. This special day is dedicated to embodying our Afrofuturist visions through tangible action and spiritual connection. Join us at the Majestic View Frontline Farm to actively participate in shaping a future where our connections to the earth and each other are strengthened through shared work and ceremony.

Date: Saturday, April 20th 2024 Location: Majestic View Frontline Farm, 7000 Garrison St. Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Event Schedule:

• 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Ceremony and Blessing. We'll commence with a ceremony that honors our ancestors and the future generations, setting the tone for a day filled with purpose and community spirit.
• 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Work in the Field. Following the ceremony, we'll channel our energy into the land, engaging in farm work that symbolizes our commitment to nurturing the earth and our Afrofuturist ideals.
• 12:30 PM Onwards: Lunch and Conversations. After our collective effort, we'll gather to share a meal and engage in discussions that reflect on our day's work and the broader implications of our actions for future generations and the planet.

Bring your own water bottle, hat, work gloves, closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, and sunscreen. We will take breaks and provide snacks and water; We will also take a lunch break to eat a communal meal together.

Parking will be severely limited. We encourage you to carpool!

We welcome volunteers aged 10 and up, and ask that volunteers between age 10 and 18 are accompanied by an adult.
