One of our prides at our Sister Gardens Site is the different regional foodway zones we have built and cultivate. One of our zones is the African Foodways. This year we focused on growing buena mulatas, fish pepper, and cayenne peppers in our African Food ways. Our foodways tells stories of the histories of people through food and the strength and courage it took to preserve genetic diversity sometimes braided in the hairs of those who were stolen from Africa. Our pepper sauces are another way of storytelling in which we get to share the rich history of food not only in its cultivation but in its delicious taste.
