Sister Gardens
Sister Gardens is 1.5 acre haven for growing both community and food. At Sister’s we grow, distribute, and sell over 8,000 pounds of produce each year. Both an education and production farm, we place as much emphasis on providing opportunities to learn about food as we do growing it. We consider ourselves a community garden, and we focus on nourishing our communities first. This includes both the neighborhoods we work in and the farmers that grow the food. We do not divide parcels of land to community members but rather work together to feed and nourish ourselves. Our food is distributed through several outlets, which include our Healing Food Program, Pay What You Can Farmstands, Restaurant Sales, and a CSA at Call to Arms Brewery. Sister Gardens is named in honor of the Sisters of St. Francis who have lovingly stewarded the site since 1938.
